Created in 2012 in conjunction with The Society of St Andrew of Scotland (Queensland) Limited, the current Emmanuel College resident must secure a place at The University of Edinburgh or The University of Glasgow as a study abroad exchange student from The University of Queensland. Both of these universities are Universitas 21 (a global network of research universities) partners with The University of Queensland.
The University of Edinburgh, founded in 1583, is a public research university regarded as one of the most prestigious in the world. Edinburgh has approximately 35,000 students and around 500 undergraduate degree programs to choose from in a wide variety of subject areas.
The University of Glasgow, founded in 1451, is the fourth oldest university in the English-speaking world and a member of the Russell Group of leading UK research universities. It welcomes scholars from 120 countries around the world and offers a comprehensive range of undergraduate degree program combinations — both professional degree programs for students who wish to practice in a particular profession and Honours degree programs in arts, science and the social sciences.
