Emmanuel College’s men’s and women’s water polo teams have enjoyed a fantastic ICC Water Polo tournament. Both EMC teams achieved a podium finish in 3rd place, improving on last year’s results which saw our women placing 4th and our men placing 5th.
Convenors of EMC men’s water polo Finlay Walton and Matthew Cunnington said, “We are incredibly proud of the results and the way the team played. It was a phenomenal effort from the whole team as the one weekend carnival was a gruelling format. Their commitment really showcased the Blue Dog spirit that we strive for at Emmanuel College.”
Catherine Gerrard and Emma Scott, convenors of EMC women’s water polo, said the team trained very hard this season, leading to their improved results. The women’s team were also boosted in their efforts by alumni support. Kay Knight (nee Grudgfield, EMC 1986-89) subsidised the purchase of swimwear for our female swimmers and Emmanuel’s women’s team proudly represented their College in their new EMC togs.
