Cross Country champs, again!

Déjà vu for the runners in blue

It was déjà vu for Emmanuel College at The University of Queensland Inter-College Competition Cross Country championships with our women’s team achieving 1st place and our men’s team tying for 1st place with King’s College for the second consecutive year.

Sports Convenors Liam Landrigan and Jess Bennett said, “We are so proud of the amazing achievements of our cross country runners who competed in the ICC competition last Thursday. Our male team finished with a tied 1st place for the fifth year running, and our female team placed a very impressive 1st place overall for the second year in a row! Special mention must go to our top performing runners: Eloise Wiffen, who placed an admirable 2nd in the women’s individual 4km race, and Declan Kelly, who placed 3rd in the men’s individual 6km event. Our women’s relay team must also be acknowledged for their convincing 1st place finish, as well as our men’s relay team who finished a very respectable 2nd.”

The teams’ excellent performances were no doubt boosted by the many Blue Dog supporters cheering on the Emmanuel runners on the day. See the photos on our Facebook page.
