Our Scottish connections and heritage are very important to the Emmanuel College community, so we’re delighted to announce that Emmanuel now has its own officially registered tartan! Designed by Provost Professor David Brunckhorst in consultation with staff, students and the House of Tartan in Scotland, the tartan’s hues are based on Emmanuel’s corporate colours and the design is for the exclusive use of the College. We look forward to producing Emmanuel College merchandise, such as sashes for the Bannockburn Community Awards and scarves for our female valedicts, to be worn with pride. The Emmanuel College Highlanders at The University of Queensland pipe band will continue to kilt up in their distinctive Stewart of Arran red tartan.
