About this scholarship
Established in 2024 in honour of celebrating (in 2025) 50 years of women as residents at Emmanuel College, this scholarship is awarded to a promising female-identifying student to encourage more young women to step into student leadership roles and to support outstanding future women leaders undertaking undergraduate study in any discipline.
This scholarship was formed through the Emmanuel College Women’s Committee working group, who sought to address the challenges of gender equality within the student leadership groups including the Emmanuel College Students’ Club Inc., Wing Leaders and Office Holders at the College.

- a personal statement of no more than 500 words outlining
- the reasons you are applying for the scholarship
- the impact it would have on your collegiate experience
- a proposal indicating how the funds would be used
- a written character reference relevant to the scholarship
- a copy of your CV/resume

Eligibility
- are a returning resident, second year or above; and
- identify as a female
Selection criteria
- your previous academic results at tertiary level
- your proposal indicating how the funds would be used
Rules
Emmanuel College scholarships are subject to the following conditions:
- full time enrolment at a program at The University of Queensland or other Brisbane-based university
- a full year residential offer from Emmanuel College
- an applicant’s agreement to the Residential Terms and Conditions, which form part of the residential offer, including maintaining a satisfactory General Point Average (GPA)
- an applicant’s agreement to abide by the contents of the Student Handbook
All scholarships are awarded on an annual basis for the duration of an applicant’s academic year; and are not awarded by single semester.
