A recognised leader in the Australian agricultural sector, David Crombie AM has spent more than 40 years in agri-business and in the advocacy of progressive agricultural policies. He was a founding partner in GRM International, a company managing development projects in Australia and overseas. Mr Crombie has held a number of leadership roles in agri-business, including President of the National Farmers Federation and Chair of Meat and Livestock Australia.
A former representative rugby union player for Queensland and a Wallaby, Mr Crombie was Chair and President of Queensland Rugby and President of Australian Rugby.
In 2014 he was made a Member of the Order of Australia for his services to agriculture, communities and sport. In 2018 Mr Crombie was awarded the Colleges’ UQ Alumni Award for his outstanding contribution to The University of Queensland and Emmanuel College and his positive impact on the wider community.
Mr Crombie operates family properties, breeding cattle and farming in southern Queensland.
