Cultural Cup champs – again!

Emmanuel College celebrated an epic cultural year last night at the 2017 Cultural Awards Dinner.

ICC Dancefest, held on 11 October, was the final event of the cultural competition between the ten residential colleges based at The University of Queensland. Emmanuel’s Cinderella-themed performance – featuring spectacular dancing, fabulous choreography and gorgeous costumes – was awarded 2nd place, leading to Emmanuel College being crowned ICC Cultural Cup champs for the second year in a row!

Emmanuel College Students’ Club Cultural Convenors Gianni Balatti-Hill and Lizzie Schluter said, “Emmanuel College has seen a phenomenal cultural year — from Choralfest, Debating and Bandfest to Theatre RestaurantOne Act Play and Dancefest. We are grateful to all those who involved themselves in events, whether they convened, participated or supported. We couldn’t be prouder of the increased engagement, enhanced participation and elevated audience numbers present from one cultural event to the next. Through the big wins and the narrow losses, the Blue Dog spirit remained incredibly strong.”
