History
1998 saw the formation of The Emmanuel College University of Queensland Pipe Band (ECUQPB) with the arrival in College of Mr Andrew McCabe . Mr McCabe was appointed Pipe Major and given the task of raising a pipe band within the College and University. The Patron of the band is the Emmanuel College Principal.
The Band Today
Band membership is open to all members of the College, the University and those from within the wider Brisbane community. ECUQPB continues to grow in strength and musical repertoire. This is due to the dedication of members such as Andrew McCabe, founding tutor in drumming, Doug Lawrie and Pipe Tutor Duncan Campbell. Tuition is provided free in both pipes and drums.
