The wellbeing of students is an important part of life at Emmanuel College. Whilst the Academic progress of students is of major importance we recognise that there is a need for pastoral support as students undertake the transition between High School and University.
As a community, we are concerned that students are cared for as a whole person. Thus, the emotional, physical, and social wellbeing of students is important, particularly as most are also undergoing a significant life transition as they grow into adulthood.
Pastoral care at Emmanuel is on many levels beginning in the residential wings where senior students are appointed to a leadership role as Wing Community Leaders providing a valuable source of support to the others in their Wing.
During office hours staff are on hand to provide support in whatever form it may be required. Outside office hours Senior Residential staff are rostered on duty so that a trellis of care is apparent throughout the day and night. Completing this support network are the vast resources of the University of Queensland
